Barclays names Ansari as head of new corporate strategic solutions team
Faisal Ansari has been named as head of the newly formed corporate strategic solutions team at Barclays Corporate Banking in London, which oversees the captives business among other areas.
Corporate strategic solutions sits within the financial institutions group and is led by Phil Bowkley. As well as captives, it includes escrow, securitisation services and corporate banking in the Crown Dependencies, bringing more specialised expertise to clients and increased focus on these corporate solutions.
Ansari has worked with banks in four countries, managing regional business units and global product solutions. He was most recently responsible for growing the escrow solutions team for Corporate Banking at Barclays.
He described captives as “a key growth initiative for Barclays Corporate Banking.”
James Morris, the previous head of Barclays Corporate Banking’s captives business, takes on a new position within the UK corporate bank working with large corporates. Morris received industry recognition in late 2020 for being a kindness leader.
Andy Ponsford, a managing director, has also been named head of UK insurance and funds for Barclays Corporate Banking, covering general and life, reinsurance and non life specialty insurance, as well as funds.
