Captive Resources pays tribute to late founder
Captive Resources has paid tribute to Anno Karl von Heimburg, the founder of the company who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 11, 2021.
von Heimburg "helped create a culture of camaraderie and teamwork that remains the soul of our company to this day," said George Rusu, chairman and chief executive officer of Captive Resources, who co-founded the company with von Heimburg. "We would simply not be the company we are today had there not been a Karl to help show us the way."
According to an obituary written by the Chicago Tribune, von Heimburg was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was a graduate of the University of Minnesota.
Other than Captive Resources, he started a string of successful enterprises, including a franchise of grocery stores, Country Cupboard and Open Pantry, and a manufacturing operation called GNP. He also created several real estate ventures and a rental operations company.
