Canopius unveils new head of MPL

Canopius Group has appointed Valentina Minetti as head of medical professional liability (MPL). She takes up the role with immediate effect.

Minetti brings nearly three decades of healthcare lines and actuarial experience to her new role. She joins from Coverys Syndicate 1975, where she served as active underwriter. Prior to this, she led Beazley’s US hospitals portfolio. She began her career as an actuary, first at RSA and later at GE Financial and Groupama.

The company said that the appointment accelerates the growth of Canopius’ new medical professional liability division, following the appointments of Ashley Moulton as healthcare underwriter and Alex Tindall as underwriting analyst to the team last year.
